    A guide to assist any recharge service center to understand and work through the rate setting process. Self-published by an ABRF member, this 32 page how-to manual covering all aspects of the rate setting process is now available on www.lulu.com as a spiral bound printed manual or a downloadable ebook. Based on 12 years’ experience working with a range of core facilities and presentations at ABRF and MAD SSCi, Covers the basics of recharge, pitfalls, and best practices. Includes many illustrated graphics and examples.

External Core Customers visiting from institutions outside of the US

For External Core Customers visiting from institutions outside of the US

  • The Core Director hosting the international core customer should contact International_Collaborations@hms.harvard.edu to confirm that the visiting individual meets Harvard criteria relating to export control compliance for work in the core. This step can be done in parallel with setting up a Harvard Sponsored Role (HSR) for the customer.
  • Questions to answer in the email to the International Collaborations Group:
    • What will be sent (State what the material is and describe it at an elementary level—this can be electronic information or research materials):
    • Will the material or research be used by or for the government or military?:
    • Is this associated with a sponsored award at HMS? If so, please provide the fund number:
    • Is this associated with an HMS collaboration?:
    • Is it pathogenic?
    • Does it contain elements of a human or animal pathogen or toxin?
    • Is it a genetically modified organism? If yes, does it represent a significant hazard or cause harm to humans, plants, or animals?
    • Who will receive/use the material:
    • Where will the material be sent:
    • Planned use for the material:
