Quick Access:

Launch HMS-PPMS: https://ppms.us/harvard-hms/start/

For Core Users:

Scheduling and billing for most Research Cores at HMS are provided via the HMS-PPMS cores management system. To request access to PPMS, contact the relevant core director or core staff member from the core that you would like access to. You can find a list of HMS Research Cores and their contact information on the homepage.

Non-Harvard Users of HMS research cores who don’t already have Harvard University IDs (HUID) must register as an External Core Customer (ECC) Harvard Sponsored Role (HSR) before getting access to PPMS.  More information about ECC HSRs can be found at the HMS HSR website. Please contact the core director or core staff for HSR sponsorship.

Core users from other Harvard Schools (FAS, SEAS, HSPH, etc.) can obtain an HMS ID by getting sponsored as an "Interschool Affiliate" HSR by an HMS Core Director.

For Core Administrators and Core Finance:

Please contact PPMSAdmin@hms.harvard.edu for training materials, and how to subscribe to stratocore announcements.

PPMS Announcements and Resources: You can find a list of new features by clicking the Help tab in your PPMS administrator’s toolbar in PPMS, and select ‘Announcements – New features, fixes, and other important announcements’ to see articles and webinars that were released by Stratocore about new features. Their website includes a detailed reference guide of all features and functions of PPMS, as well as training materials and tips & tricks.

A: If you need to change or reset your password you can visit this link. You'll also need to complete two-step authentication using your mobile device—click here to get started.

Q: I’ve changed lab groups or institutions—how do I update my PPMS account?

A: If you've moved to a new lab or institution, please reach out to the appropriate core director and/or email PPMSAdmin@hms.harvard.edu. They’ll assist you in updating your user profile and reassigning your group affiliation

Q: What do I do if I am unable to activate my HMS ID?

A: If you're having trouble activating your HMS ID, it may be because your guest sponsorship has expired. To activate your HMS ID, ensure that your sponsored HSR (Harvard Sponsored Role) status is currently active. In most cases, the core director of the HMS facility you are trying to access should serve as your HMS ID Sponsor. For more details, please refer to the external sponsorship guidelines here.

Q: How do I get a Harvard ID card?

A: Once you've received a Harvard University ID (HUID) number, if you need an HUID card in order to have access to the HMS campus and to use instruments in HMS core facilities, you can pick up an HUID card at the Longwood ID Office, located in the NRB at 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur; Room 133, Boston, MA 02115
